Learn to Row Summer Camp

Wakefield Crew offers an introduction to the sport of rowing to incoming freshmen to Wakefield as well as rising 7th and 8th graders in Arlington. Each week-long camp is held at the Anacostia Community Boathouse with bus transport provided from Wakefield High School. Our bus leaves Wakefield at 8:30AM and returns at 3:00PM each day. Rowers have two rowing sessions with a lunch break in-between. The camp will be led by Wakefield Coaches along with Varsity Rowers as Assistant Counselors.

These sessions introduce the basics of rowing including language, how to handle the equipment, and technique needed for the rowing stroke. We invite everyone to come out for a week of Learn to Row Camp to try crew, without having to commit to a full season. No previous experience needed.
