WELCOME TO WAKEFIELD CREW!
Wakefield Crew invites all Wakefield students, as well as H-B Woodlawn and Arlington Tech students who are districted for Wakefield High School, to join the sport of rowing. 8th graders zoned for Wakefield are also invited to join.
Our program is run out of the Anacostia Community Boathouse in Southeast DC, where we practice from mid-February until late May. From mid-November until mid-February, the team trains at Wakefield High School.
Wakefield is a member of the Virginia Scholastic Rowing Association (VASRA). The team competes regionally in March, April, and early May before traveling in mid-May for the Stotesbury Cup Regatta and SRAA Nationals.
Wakefield has built a strong legacy of success. In 2025, the girls first varsity 8 won the state championships for the 5th year in a row, our girls novice 4 became state champions, and our girls and boys 2V boats both won silver medals. This comes after the 2024 season was the winningest season in team history.
