Wakefield Crew

Wakefield Crew invites all Wakefield students, as well as H-B Woodlawn/Arlington Tech students who are districted for Wakefield High School, to join the sport of rowing.

Our program is run out of the Anacostia Community Boathouse in Southeast DC, where we practice from mid-February until late May. From mid-November until mid-February, the team trains at Wakefield High School.

Wakefield is a member of the Virginia Scholastic Rowing Association (VASRA). The team competes regionally in March, April, and early May before traveling in mid-May for the Stotesbury Cup Regatta and SRAA Nationals.

Wakefield has built a legacy of success. In 2024, the girls first varsity 8 won the state championships for the 4th year in a row, and our team sent our 1st and 2nd varsity girls, our 1st varsity boys, and our freshman boys 8 to compete in the SRAA National Championship regatta, resulting in 2024 being the winningest season in team history.
